About your coach, Alex Bryan

Hi, I’m Alex Bryan – educator, peace coach, and longtime student of emotional intelligence.
For the past 20 years, I’ve worked with individuals, couples, parents, families, professionals, and teams to help them develop the emotional tools to better understand themselves and others. Whether in schools, prisons, youth groups, churches, businesses, or one-on-one coaching, I’ve helped people navigate the challenges of human relationships with more clarity, confidence, and connection.
I live on the beautiful Olympic Peninsula in Washington State, where I spend as much time as I can outdoors — hiking, biking, backpacking, sailing, and playing live music. These pursuits keep me grounded and aligned with the values I teach: curiosity, balance and respect.
... I didn’t arrive at this work by accident.
My Story
Years ago, I was in a relationship where arguments became a recurring and painful pattern. The more we argued, the more I realized that the issue wasn’t really about what we were arguing about, it was how we were communicating, how we were feeling, and how little we truly understood one another. The stress and disconnection began to spill over into other parts of my life, leaving me emotionally reactive and stuck in survival mode.
I knew something had to change.

At first, I looked for quick fixes. But a conversation with a friend (and a book recommendation I nearly ignored) introduced me to a deeper truth: at the heart of all conflict and misunderstanding are unmet needs.

The Turning Point
As I began to develop my emotional intelligence, everything shifted. I learned to approach situations with curiosity rather than defensiveness. I stopped reacting and started responding. I found ways to create calm even in chaos. Most importantly, I began to really connect with others and with myself.
What started as personal growth quickly became a passion. Friends began asking for help with their own challenges, and I realized that the skills I was developing could benefit others too. Not by giving advice or diagnosing them, but by asking the right questions, and helping them find clarity within themselves.
Since then, I’ve pursued extensive training, facilitated in-person and online workshops, and now offer emotional intelligence coaching to people all around the world. My mission is simple: to help people stop riding the emotional rollercoaster and start living with clarity, peace, and emotional freedom. If you’re looking for someone who brings warmth, professionalism, and real-world tools to help you thrive emotionally and relationally — I’m here to help.
